Week 2: A Perspective : Introduction of Research Methodology

In my own perspective Research Methodology is a specialized technique that is used to identify, select, a process, and analyze information on a topic of research problem. On average in the research paper, each section of the methodological element enables the reader to critically evaluate and draw a comparison to support the overall study. I think these sections of the methodology answer three key of questions in my mind : How is data collected or being generated? How is it beling analyzed? and what the researchers's finding about the issues they raised.

To come out with the manageable research, the research proposal is compulsory to overview the first sight of what issues a research want to raise. Research proposal include 3 main chapter which are:-
1. Chapter 1- Introduction
2. Chapter 2- Literature Review
3. Chapter 3- Methodology.

These proposal then can be the overview on what design can be implement to our research. After being approve, the process of data collection, finding and discussion can be proceed. Research design help us to find the strength and weakness of the journey of research's writing.

From Dr Sharifah's class on 2nd March 2020, I could share that doing research need to be manageable and having general steps that can be follow:-

1. Determine topic - can be related to current issues.
2. Specify research problem
3. Specify research question/ objective/ hypothesis. (Usually, the objective is about 3 or 4 objectives that through the objective, we can create the research questions and hypothesis).
4. Literature  Review (LR)
5. Determine methodology (the target population, quantitative and qualitative)
6. Collect data
7. Analyze data
8. Reporting finding
