Image
source of picture:  https://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-Questionnaire The instrument is a tools that used for measuring, obtaining and analyse the data fro, the subject around the used tool related the topic of the study. We  have to decide on what instrument we want to use based on the research that we are going to study include quantitative, qualitative and the mixed-method. For instance, for quantitative, we may need to decide to use the questionnaire while the qualitative we might choose to use the interview.  As my study is related to knowledge and attitude related to occupational safety and health, I am decided to adopt the questionnaire from previous study. Thus, i have tried to contact several of the researchers that related to the topic to ask for their permission in adopting their questionnaire.  I also got the replied from a researcher and was given a permission to use the questionnaire. After did a speed reviewed, i can see that all sections include 15 questions for e

Week 8: Population and Sampling.

Image
In the first case, when saying about the population, we would have to ask the estimation of overall population in large space area. For example, the number of teacher in Selangor. is about 31.7 million people in 2016.  It is obvious that making an interview or distribute questionnaire to more than 30 million people and will required a very huge effort in many field. To make it, there will be long period of time, huge spent of money as it is necessary to employ many people to do interview, and distribute questionnaire. There're a lot of factors need to consider when applying the population and sampling method. Therefore, somehow we ”destroy” this element of the population. If we would have to try each and every battery of the population, we would keep none of them. Thus, what we should do in this situation is also to choose an appropriate sample and then we could take the appropriate general conclusions. Due to the reasons we have just mentioned, it is convenient in many in

Week 7 : Research Design

Image
Source of picture :  https://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/09/19/what-a-messy-desk-says-about-you/ For early step of conducting research proposal in chapter 3 which is research methodology, research design is the most highlighted issues as it shows how the research will be conduct and to obtain the research outcome in meeting the the objective of the study.  The research design is mainly provided the clear framework on how the study will be manage. It become the approach as it will find the most relevant information for the study. A very significant decision in research design process is the choice to be made regarding research approach since it determines how relevant information for a study will be obtained; however, the research design process involves many interrelated decisions. This design offers to the researchers a profile of described relevant aspects of the phenomena of interest from an individual, organizational, and industry-oriented perspective. Thus, for my r

Week 6 : Reflection of Chapter 2

Image
picture source:  https://pro-papers.com/cn/literature-review-writing   In the research proposal, chapter 2 is focusing on Literature Review writing.  The literature review provide a valuable mechanism for remaining informed amidst an ever-increasing body of scientific work. It is a search and evaluation of the available literature in your given subject or chosen topic area. It documents the state of the art with respect to the subject or topic you are writing about. Basically, there are 4 components of a literature review includes: - •a description of the source; •a summary of the source’s main points; •a discussion of gaps in research; •an evaluation of the source’s contribution to the topic. picture source: Koons et al (2019) To systematize this multifaceted process, we present the “why, when, who, what, how, and where” of composing a literature review article. The current work provides structures and guidance for this fundamental effort which can establi

Week 5 : The Reflection of Chapter 1

Image
The chapter 1 have been started with the the introduction of research proposal. My mind started to stuck at the research objectives. However, the research objective is not the core of the subject for the overall study. Someone ever said to me, "the maturity of a thesis is based on the research gap, not the research objectives. From the research gap, we can think how to conduct the research, finding the solutions for the research gap". It is like we want to solve the world problem. The feel of reasoning in problem statement is like, the half of the thesis's heart have been complete. By starting the chapter 1, I can find several problems that related to my study. And of course because of my interest in occupational safety and health field, I do several reading to find the problem present to be investigate. Regarding to the readings, I could see that the implementation is not yet become our culture or in other word, I can say, the OSH Culture in our society. The knowl

Week 2: A Perspective : Introduction of Research Methodology

Image
source of the picture :  https://elearningindustry.com/10-online-research-tools-every-online-learner-know In my own perspective Research Methodology is a specialized technique that is used to identify, select, a process, and analyze information on a topic of research problem. On average in the research paper, each section of the methodological element enables the reader to critically evaluate and draw a comparison to support the overall study. I think these sections of the methodology answer three key of questions in my mind : How is data collected or being generated? How is it beling analyzed? and what the researchers's finding about the issues they raised. To come out with the manageable research, the research proposal is compulsory to overview the first sight of what issues a research want to raise. Research proposal include 3 main chapter which are:- 1. Chapter 1- Introduction 2. Chapter 2- Literature Review 3. Chapter 3- Methodology.  These proposal then

New Highlight: Journey in Research Methodology

Notice of Announcement After 5 years, this blog is being activate again for the use of the educational purpose and notes of mine. So much have change after 5 years. And currently, I am married, working and continue my study for Master. The inspirations of taking master comes from many reasons: 1. I have no commitment to children as i need to focus on my health condition first (as advice from my doctor) 2. Inspire from my husband who already submitted his research thesis for master in solid state (Physics area). 3. Enhance my knowledge on leadership and management as i am working in leadership field. 4. Adore all my bosses (i have overall 17 bosses from different areas and fields) 5. I believe I can success.
